MISSION
The European Film Academy seeks to support and connect its 5,000 members and celebrates and promotes their work.
Its aims are to share knowledge and to educate audiences of all ages about European cinema.
Positioning itself as a leading organization and facilitating crucial debates within the industry, the Academy strives to unite everyone who loves European cinema, culminating annually in the Month of European Film and the European Film Awards, by including European film heritage in its portfolio and by expanding its focus on young audiences through the European Film Club.
NEWLY LAUNCHED PROGRAMME
For six weeks, the Month of European Film, Europe’s own film and award season, celebrates the fantastic diversity of European film. Across Europe, thanks to our partner Europa Cinemas, flagship cinemas from Reykjavik to Athens, from Lisbon to Bucharest, but also including small towns and networks, highlight European films, presenting special programmes, events and dedicated retrospectives.
At the same time, our partners MUBI and DAFilms present a special focus on European films, allowing film lovers around the world to participate.For six weeks, the Month of European Film, Europe’s own film and award season, celebrates the fantastic diversity of European film.
Celebrating cinema
The European Film Awards, presented jointly by the European Film Academy and European Film Academy Productions, honour the greatest achievements in European cinema.
Streamed and broadcast live across Europe every December, the awards are presented for 24 categories.
Each year, young people present the European Young Audience Award on stage, celebrating cinema for the younger generations.
